Hypnotherapy: Finding Your Inner Calm

You're getting sleeeeeeepy.... Well, maybe you are if you're like any of the parents I know. But hypnotherapy is very different than what probably comes to mind when you think of hypnosis. Are you tired? Stressed? Anxious? All of the above? Hypnotherapy can help with these ailments among many others. (I used to meditate/ self hypnotize while I was pregnant to help me focus on staying calm during birth and it definitely helped).

This week I spoke with Lisa Scott of Noah's Ark Hypnotherapy to get a more in- depth look at the benefits. With a background in psychology and mental health, Lisa is putting into practice her knowledge to help people find some calm in their lives (especially at this time of year!). This is what Lisa had to say...

Did you know that new mums in general can greatly benefit from hypnosis? Bringing a newborn home can be both a stressful and exciting time. Adjusting to a newborn will most definitely require a major amount of time and effort. It's easy for mum to forget to make time for herself to relax and unwind. This is critical for the mental health of the mum as well as her newborn. Hypnotherapy can do wonders to help you reduce stress, depression, decrease anxiety, sleep better, promote deep relaxation, and just feel happier!

Living in today's society can at times be challenging and overwhelming. Often we just simply need to try our best to live a joyful and restful life, but this is easier said than done for many. Sometimes, you need to make a change in your life to better yourself and family. Ask yourself: Do you want to make these changes? Maybe you find it hard to stick to your goals or have trouble achieving them. To make real lasting changes to your life, you need to work with your subconscious mind. A Hypnotherapist can guide you through your journey and will be part of your team that will lead you to success. However, they cannot be the only team member- this has to be a joint effort that will also require you to be fully committed to and comfortable with the process.

And now for a little more about Lisa & her business!

1.     What kind of products and/or services do you offer?
Private transformational hypnotherapy sessions and group led relaxation.

2.     What is the price point?
We offer a Sliding scale fee structure plan.  Note that we will also work with you and whatever your income may be.

3.     How long have you been operating and how did you start?
I have been in business for nearly a year. I initially started my business as a life coach and then switched to hypnotherapy. I then saw how effective and quickly clients obtained results from hypnotherapy.  I now incorporate hypnotherapy into my coaching sessions.

4.     How did you decide what to do?
I wanted to help people and have my own business. I have a mental health background and a psychology degree.  When you combine both it is a perfect fit.

5.     What is your favourite part of what you do?  What is the biggest challenge?
I love seeing the quick results that I see from clients in hypnotherapy sessions. My least favourite and most challenging part is the marketing and management.

6.     Any advice to other ladies/moms looking to start their own business?
I believe that you must first see if there is a demand for your service or product. Secondly, you have to really love what you do. You must be willing to accept long work hours and shed the traditional North American way of thinking. You also must have great people around you to support you in your endeavour.

If you are curious about hypnotherapy and would like to find out more, you can check out Lisa's website and get in touch with her. You'll be in good hands.

Lisa is also currently offering a Groupon for her services! A great way to try out her services at a discount!
